The Henry Nehrling Society recently hosted a booth at the Florida Nurserymen’s Association Trade Show at the Orlando Convention Center. Society sponsor and landscaper Cindy Christmas, whose family have been in horticulture in central Florida for 3 generations, designed and built the booth. She was inspired by a picture of one of Dr. Nehrling’s shade houses, and the booth was furnished with a period pieces including a work bench, rockers and a mule ear chair.

The booth generated a lot of interest; it provided an excellent opportunity to connect with Florida’s horticulture community and to educate them about the Society’s mission. Pencils and brochures were handed out, copies of Nehrling’s Early Florida Gardens were sold, and beautiful silver, white and green caladium pins (donated by HTH in Winter Park) were given to those who joined or made donations.
