Volunteer Workdays

Volunteer Workdays are scheduled to help tackle specific projects at Nehrling Gardens. Most workdays have a variety of tasks in and around the house and gardens for all ages and abilities. Priorities will be listed in the description of a particular workday on our Calendar, but there will always be a need to pull weeds and vines, or dig out kudzu, cat's claw and air potato. Parking Information - Please Read Please park at New Life Worship Center at 2342 Hempel Avenue and cross the street. You may park anywhere in their lot, or along the access road just north of New Life @ 2280 Hempel Ave. Our driveway needs to be kept clear for work crews, drop-off/pick-up and emergency access. Important Workday Information We recommend wearing comfortable athletic shoes or work books, long sleeves and pants, a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent. We are usually able to provide insect repellent at workdays, but this is not always the case.. Water, work gloves and restrooms are available. Workdays are scheduled for the First Saturdays of each month from October to June, 9a-2p. You may come at any time, and spend as much time as you would like. Every little bit helps. Workdays are weather-permitting and may be cancelled without notice. Please check the Calendar for updates on a sepecific workday. If possible, please coordinate a carpool to minimize pollution and parking.
